Might be “the” mechanism behind the elongated styloid processes/calcified (ossified) ligaments/muscles attached to the SP.

I’ve only read the first one so far but it confirms some of what we suggest here as to what causes the styloids to elongate. It’s good that our site & Cleveland Clinic concur!

Interesting, confirms that trauma & surgery can cause ossification which are the most common causes we see on here…& also interesting that they’ve found the process can continue after surgical resection…
