Okay I was able to download some 3D images, I know you all aren’t medical professionals but just wanted to know general thoughts?
It does appear that you have some thick and long styloids (If what I am seeing is correct!). I will let more experienced members share their thoughts / labeling.
@Kiwi -
Welcome to our forum! I’m sorry you’ve had some trouble trying to post on here but am proud of you for persevering. This isn’t the easiest forum to navigate.
Nice job w/ your 3D images. I’ve annotated a couple of your pictures. Both your styloids are very thick & long. Quite gnarly looking actually! It looks like you may have bilateral IJV compression as well. You’ve also got a slight reverse cervical curve which is bringing your styloids & hyoid bone closer to vascular tissues & nerves in your neck. That’s something that can be corrected w/ time & consistent work, but we recommend waiting until you’ve had your styloids & IJV decompression taken care of to work on your neck curve.
Are you seeing a specialist who can help you yet?
Thank you for your thoughts! I had a written consult with Dr. Bolognese at Mt. Sinai for potential CCI as well but I don’t think he’s on the list for eagle syndrome. I have to look at the list of recommended doctors.
They are mighty styloids! It’s strange that they don’t really show on your x-rays though…
It looks like your C1 processes are quite large too, especially on the right, so they could well be causing IJV compression too. And it’s possibly a little tilted, maybe the others @Isaiah_40_31 could look at that & see if they agree?
I’ve sent you a private message about Dr B; the other vascular ES doctors who would be good to try & get a consultation with are Dr Costantino in NY or Dr Cognetti in PA (I think both of these doctors do online consults), or Dr Hepworth in CO, Dr Nakaji in AZ or Dr Fargen in NC. Here’s a link to the list:

Good luck!
I got a DMX done last week and I’m waiting for the results I wonder if those will show more? The first image I posted was my CT just what was on my portal so maybe just low quality. Thank you for the suggestions!
Also I see where you pointed out the top of the styloid, can you point to where it ends? Or is it covered by other stuff?
The blood vessels are obscuring it…
That makes sense
maybe I can figure out this dicom stuff more and get more images
@kiwi - I’m not good w/ the dicom conversions & manipulating images, but I can tell you what I see in an image with some level of non-professional accuracy. I know that others have mentioned there’s a tool in the dicom conversion software that allows “cutting away” parts of images by layers so you can get down to the level of “buried” structures you want to see. I hope you can find that tool!

I wasn’t able to cut out the mandible but I did get some more images, not sure if these are any more helpful or not.
@kiwi - Your styloids are very thick even though they’re not super long, & as previously noted, you have some stylohyoid ligament calcification below your right styloid. Again, based on the fact there’s nearly no space between your left styloid & C1, your left IJV is probably not working well if at all. It’s still hard to tell for sure what the situation is on the right, but I’d bet your IJV compression is bilateral. The thickness of your styloids is likely part of the cause of other symptoms as well.
The closest vES surgeon to you is Dr. Costantino in NY followed by Dr. Cognetti in PA, however, you can at least get diagnosed closer to home. Dr. Annino in Boston would be closer to you (sorry if I already mention him to you before).
•Dr Donald Annino, Brigham and Womens, Boston (surgeries on several members), (617) 525-6500 Donald J. Annino, Jr., MD, DMD - Brigham and Women’s Hospita

Does do online or phone consults we believe.
•Dr David Cognetti, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia 215- 955- 6760 (Has done many successful surgeries on members). Only removes ligaments if calcified. Works with Dr Heller now to do C1 shaves
