Need input help

So I had my dynamic venous angiogram today and this was the results. My styloids are about 5cm long . But I see compression is at C2/C3 level. Could that still be from my styloids ? Or what else ?

It says “and moderate to severe compression on neurtral [sic] position” (the docs don’t got the time to properly format documents or spellcheck). I’d be surprised if this isn’t from the styloids (ie at the level of C1). I’m thinking they were so distracted by the unobvious or severe thing and sort of stuck in the obvious or less severe thing afterwards.

Edit: And even if it’s not at the level of C1, I think 5 cm is probably long enough to extend into C2/C3 territory.

Do you have access to your CT imaging (assuming you’ve had a CT)? If so, and it was with contrast, I can show you the compression in the axial view. IJV compression at the level of C2/C3 is less likely styloid and more likely digastric and/or SCM. Won’t know unless I get a look at your CT

Interesting, they look pretty good in the neutral position. I’m not entirely sure what would be causing the complete obstruction on head turns at the level of C2/C3. I’m not sure how we would ever figure that out without a dynamic CT with contrast where they get CT images with your head turns each way

The original photo on this post is from my dynamic venous angiogram today

Are you able to access that imaging?

In case you’re wondering, I’m not really sure how you’re selecting these slices and these series. I’ve never had a dynamic angiogram so wouldn’t be able to say much based on what you’ve put here..

I’d note that the DICOM files have a lot of personally identifiable information embedded in the file format. Some or most of these DICOM viewers have “de-identification” features that let you scrub all that information away, However, this still leaves biomarkers, the most glaring of which would be a detailed 3D-model of the face.

Here’s mine for example from a CT-E

I’m not aware of a free DICOM viewer that lets you sort of section off just the face for exporting, but I haven’t looked that hard…

I’d personally prefer using a private thread to limit the number of people who can access my DICOM sets. There’s also allegedly a feature inside ChatGPT or something called “Radiology AI Assistant’“, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you much about it. I’m also aware that there are a bunch of YouTube tutorials, but this sort of thing might be more manageable to go through with at least one healthy person beside you. It really is too much to ask anyone to figure this out themselves.

I agree with @TML that the IJVs do look pretty good on those images…I would imaging that at 5 cms the styloids could well extend to C2 level, most people we see on here have approx 4cms styloids & they go to & sometimes past C1 often. The measurement isn’t always accurate though.
The SCM muscle and the digastric muscle can also commonly compress the IJVs.
What symptoms do you have?

@Sabrinab - Those are typical symptoms of IJV compression. Here’s information @Jules wrote about ES symptoms that will be helpful for you:
