How much does Dr. Cognetti charge for bilateral surgery? And if you don’t mind me asking, how much was it for a bilateral surgery with Dr. Hepworth for you?

Dr. Cognetti doesn’t do bilateral surgeries. You would need to come for 2 separate surgeries. Dr. Cognetti charges around ~$10K USD for his part which is the styloidectomy but that also includes the cost for the hospital & maybe anesthesiologist. Dr. Heller does the IJV decompression/C1 shave if needed & his charge is ~$26K USD. The prices I’ve mentioned were given us perhaps 6 months ago so they could have changed, but that gives you an idea of the cost for each side.

Dr. Hepworth also will not do bilateral vES surgeries. His charge for vES surgeries ranges from $5-7.5K USD per side, but hospital (OR) & anesthesiology charges are separate & will be additional beyond that. I only had one side done by him (a revision styloidectomy plus IJV decompression w/o C1 shave) & haven’t had to pay anything yet. Still waiting to see how much my insurance covered.
