Submitted documents to Nakaji

I’ve submitted my info to Nakaji’s office over a week ago and am awaiting to hear from them. I’ve confirmed they’ve received it all.
I have a surgery scheduled with another provider but due to my severe symptoms, I’m not sure I’m able to travel to get there. At the time they were my only option.

In regards to insurance, I’m on a new one since a few months ago. I’m anticipating my Nakaji’s office will get denied on my behalf because insurance believes having surgery elsewhere?
Can someone enlighten me how this works?

If I cancel the surgery scheduled and Nakaji denies me, I’ll have to start from scratch.

We’ve had some discussions about this as other members have had to fight to get surgery approved out of network; because it’s such a tricky surgery you need to get someone experienced with this, but unfortunately the insurance companies don’t understand this!

Thank you for your response. The links you sent were very helpful.

I heard from Nakaji‘s office today and I am very confused. The office stated he reviewed my images and did not see any compressions. Again, I’ve been told by other renowned doctors that the non-dominant is completely occluded and the dominant is 50% occluded by C1/transverse process I am aware that my styloid are not involved . I had narrowing both sides of the transverse and sigmoid sinuses.

He did note that I had a thin and calcified styloid process on the left. But that was his only comment. He’s referring me to Neurology.

I am completely surprised by this and caught off guard. I am a homebound and mostly bedbound, and I’m not sure what to think of all of this. He reviewed my CTA. I’m wondering if he is only looking for styloid compressions? Perhaps he does not do the C1 shave.

TML posted my images of what he saw yesterday and it looks like there’s a lot going on.

@Luckee7 - I’m really sorry for the response you got from Dr. Nakaji! It’s unfortunate that he doesn’t consider symptoms when he’s deciding whether or not to see a patient. He has rejected some of our other members recently who were in your condition as far as symptoms go. A neurologist may be able to help relieve pain symptoms but surely not anything related to vascular compression. It certainly won’t hurt for you to pursue a consult w/ Dr. Damrose since he’s closer to you, but he may be booked out into late spring next year so you’d have a bit of a wait.
