Thinking of you & hoping you can get some proper rest soon, hugs & prayers
Will keep praying, so good that youâre not in too much pain
Thatâs wonderful news! Iâm so glad to hear that! Who hoo! Praying for it to continue that way! And as far as the symptoms I feel like a lot of anxiety has lifted my right eye feels a bit better it seems but maybe thatâs just me being optimistic. Just got the drains out and will be getting discharged in a bit!
@Ddmarie - I had an eye issue which resolved pretty instantly after my second ES surgery so itâs possible thatâs your first symptom thatâs recovering quickly! I hope all went well w/ discharge & youâre getting some needed rest today.
Fantastic news that your pain is minimal! I hope it stays that way for you. Keep in mind that days 3-5 are when post op swelling peaks. Ice, rest & Tylenol will be especially important on those days.
Thanks @Isaiah_40_31 as usual your kind advice is really much appreciated.
Here is the left Styloid removed but I think the measurement is wrong. It is around 2 cm ( I originally measured it to be 1.8 cm). It is not 2.5 cm I think it is shifted that is why it seems to be 2.5 cm
Im soooo happy for you Dee praying for full recovery of your pain .Keep us updated
Kool styloid Dude lol. Continue healing
Thank you ! I wouldâve never made it through it without you!!! Mean it! Continued prayers for healing for you as well!
TY ,You are so strong Dee cause Eagle syndrome is not for the weak.We have too be
Wanted to wish all of you just post surgery a good recovery and some real long term benefit. Know the early days are not easy. Heal well. D
@PatientD thanks right now I am feeling the head pressure & Tinnutus is on steroids. Donât know if this is due to the swelling after the removal of the Styloid. I am hoping this will subside as the days.
My symptoms got worse after surgery too due to swelling. So hoping you get will feel better as swelli ng calms down & fluid around wound reduces. Mine was worst in first 3 weeks. D
@KoolDude. So glad that thing is out of your neck! Youâre a prime example of what we say about a styloid not needing to be super long to be a BIG problem. I expect, as @PatientD & even you said that youâll notice improvement in a few weeks when the swelling begins to subside. That process can be a bit slow so donât get discouraged. Iâll be praying for noticeable positive changes soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement.
Been really just trying to stay on top of the pain meds, alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol. And icing like constant icing. I just took the neck bra off that I had on was told to keep on for 48 hours post op which I did. I might end up putting it back on it seems to make everything feel a bit more stable.
Today I have some right sided lip droop when smiling, my face is numb on both sides and my ears are completely numb. My throat no longer hurts but I can only open my mouth so far. So been doing soft foods and drinking all the drinks LOL been super dry!
Flying home tomorrow and looking forward to being home but praying about the pressure itâs a quick jaunt so hereâs hoping!
@KoolDude are you icing? If not I would do so it really is honestly the thing that feels the best for me. Make sure you listen to your body my friend and rest when you need and keep ahead of the pain meds.
My biggest issue right now is my ears they feel plugged but sometimes hurt inside, Cant feel the outside of ears at all. So kind of freaks me out a bit. But I just say itâs all part of the healing!
@Ddmarie - I would definitely put the neck bra back on for flying as the compression might be a big help w/ the pressure changes during flying. Icing will help, too. The lip droop & ear pressure/pain & stiff jaw plus much, if not all of the numbness, will gradually go away as the swelling decreases. Just keep doing what youâre doing - ice & ibuprofen/Tylenol. Make sure you donât take ibuprofen on an empty stomach & ALWAYS drink at least 8 oz of water w/ each dose. Ibuprofen is notorious for causing stomach ulcers if taken w/o enough fluid & on an empty stomach. Most doctors neglect to mention that to their patients.
My energy level finally returned to normal about 2 mos post op so donât be discouraged if youâre tired for awhile. I think thatâs one way our bodies keep us âdownâ so they can recover.
Safe travels Get well, Dee since you got both sides done you will have better results fast praying for you
@Ddmarie i am definitely icing all the time but I think I am still on the peak of inflammation curve so I expect head pressure and tinnitus to get worse in the coming days. Hopefully I will see improvements in a few weeks.
I wish you the best of recovery as well. I know pain and inflammation are the 2 sides of the same coin. I am hoping when all this is done, we will have some semblance of normalcy.
Good youâre patient @KoolDude, itâs the only way to deal with it, thereâll be ups & down to come as well. Keep strong & take it as easy as you can
