Hi @andal,
Sorry to hear you are going through this too!
Just wondering if you have any pain in the Scm muscle, where it attaches to the skull just behind the ear. I’ve had a lot of ongoing pain and symptoms post op (11 months ago) on my symptomatic side and have recently worked out it is largely muscle related. My Scm in particular has been pressing on everything that the styloid was I believe and more recently when it completely spasmed after I tried to release it, it compressed my jugular vein so badly that I was having blood pooling in my legs/feet. It was debilitating. I had to sleep with my legs raised etc. I was lucky to find a treatment therapy called Neubie where the physio wore a glove connected to the DC current machine to transfer into the muscles of my neck with the lightest of touch. Over 3 sessions the muscle relaxed and most of my remaining eagles symptoms disappeared (for the time being, until I can understand why my neck muscles are under so much tension).
Perhaps feeling around the skull by the back of ear will tell you if the muscle feels tight. For me the feeling back there is quite a sharp pulling pain. I can feel it a lot when I tilt my head to the opposite shoulder. And when I push on the back of my ear in the crease where it connects to the skull I also get some relief.
