Hello everyone...... Does anyone have these symptoms?
Total dizziness and terrible pressure pain in temple and around ear and eye, all down my right side, feels like my ear is full , awful feeling, keep feeling faint, got another week to go till i see my specialist, ive been waiting weeks.
Yes I experience all of those symptoms. I have bilateral ES but my symptoms are on the left side. Also racing heartbeat/palpitations. Especially at night I can’t sleep at all. I can’t wait to have surgery. No one should have to live like this! It is so scary!
If he does not feel it is Eagle, ask him about Superior Canal Dehiscence Syndrome. I had both. During the past two years I had four surgeries, two for Eagle and two for SCDS. After the SCDS, it was determined that the Eagles was also causing problems; but the SCDS was the culprit for the dizziness.
Thankyou for your replies, do any of you get the temple pressure pain? its driving me mad, i feel so faint when i am out, it is getting to the point i darent go out on my own.Awful head pain at the back and it is worse when i lay down, feel terrible in a morning. It is so nice to have some support off here as i have nobody to talk to and it is very scary as you omagine everything when your on your own.

That pain sounds like a response to tension. The muscles holding your jaw run up the side of your head. If you are clenching your teeth at night, this will happen. Try a night guard to see if it will give relief. The same goes for the back of the neck/head. You are holding your head so the throat won't hurt, and thus you are causing the other muscle problem. It is all connected in a vicious circle.
I had problems for 50 years and am almost afraid that the relief I now feel won't last.
Kazza,
I have all of those symptoms myself. The dizziness and feeling faint combined with the severe headache is horrible and scary. I don’t really drive anymore and I never go out by myself. I am scheduled for surgery in December and cannot wait! My symptoms are also worse when I lay down.

I'm getting a lot of pressure in my ears and temples- that's driving me mad too- I mentioned this at my recent appt., and the consultant said it sounded like I might have raised intra-cranial pressure. The symptoms fit- I googled it when I got home! Headaches when you get up in the morning is one symptom- I find I'm getting headaches when I get up now, which go off a bit in the day, and is often worse in the evening when I'm sitting down. I get pulsatile tinnitus too, and feel very 'swimmy'- not really full blown dizziness but wobbly too. It's getting quite scary; I can't lay on my worse side at all now as it gets really bad and then pounding when I move, and I get real mental blanks and can't think properly at times too, so I can sympathise.
One cause of increased intra-cranial pressure can be a blockage in one of the veins from the head, so I'm wondering if the styloid is pushing on it. I'm waiting for the results of a CT with contrast I've had.
Have you had a scan? If not it would be a good idea to get that done so they can see the blood vessels.
Good luck for your appt. next week! Keep us posted.
