It was done both open and closed. Dr Hackman was actually the one to order the MRI, I think he used that code just so insurance covers it.
I haven’t talked to Dr Hackman yet but my plan is to join a local TMD study that is researching conservative treatments.
That’s sounds like a great idea, would be nice if they come up with conservative treatments that actually work. Seems like even people with 
healthy joints (as per imaging) struggle with finding relief. Too many gray areas yet in the field of the jaw joints. Please, keep me posted if you learn anything interesting in your TMD study group
