As far as I’m aware, it’s only fairly recently that GP’s can request a CT, it always used to be requested by a consultant…but at a guess this will only be for suspected cancer patients, I doubt many GPs will want to use their budget for it in other conditions!
Most of the members have either gone through the NHS via a consultant , and waited ages for scans, or otherwise unfortunately to get seen have had to pay privately, not much of a choice!
So if you’re able to get a referral to either an ENT or a skull base/ otolarnygologist surgeon, or a head & neck vascular or cancer surgeon, then you might be able to request a scan. If you can get a referral, then we usually suggest that you print out a research paper or 2 which describe symptoms similar to yours- there’s a Research papers category on here.
Here’s a link to the Doctors List, there are a few doctors in England, a couple in Ireland, but none in N Ireland that we know of I’m afraid…I don’t know how easy it is to get a referral across the border?

Just having a quick look online, the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast ENT dept mentions complex head & neck surgery as well as skull base surgery, so that might be a starting point for you?
Good luck!
