That’s not how it should @Rozmarincek, especially if you sent them money!! Have you tried calling the office to speak to someone directly? I’m sorry to hear this has happened to other people as well. Is there a way you can verify the money order or however you sent your money, was cashed or deposited into Dr. Heim’s account? If so, that would give you leverage for getting your report or getting a refund.
The best advice that I can give is keep contacting the office until you get an answer about whether they got your money & your report gets sent. You may have to call them for this to happen.

If you check on my link below, it seems like Dr.Heim never left there. Or did they not update their website in years?

Thx Isaiah, but thats why I posted the above link. It is the up to date website of the University Klinik Bonn with DR. Heim as the overseer of the department concerned with ES. The other website the Dude linked seems a fake for desperate ES sufferers to send money. That website does not conform in any way to german laws on websites.
That’s a worry if you think it’s fake; should we remove those links?
If you’ve found an up to date site mentioning him working at the University Klinink in Bonn then hopefully you can see a doctor with experience there…would you let us know if you find anything out so we can update our list please?
WOW! That’s a bit scary. We did have a member or two who contacted Dr. Heim after he went off on his own. Images were submitted to him but at least one person came back to say he didn’t get the report from Dr. Heim as promised. I don’t know if he received it eventually, but I recall it had been a month or more wait already. I’m glad if Dr. Heim is back working with the clinic in Bonn.
As Jules said, please let us know if you find out anything more about how to directly contact Dr. Heim & we’ll update our file. We took him off our Doctors List when we were told he was no longer working with ES but would be very happy to add him back to it if there is updated information.
Just to chime in with a more recent experience - I had a virtual consul with Dr Heim about a month ago, in early December. He was excellent - empathetic and thorough. I have not yet received the written report from him. However, I haven’t paid yet either. I initially asked how to pay before the appointment and he said I could do it afterwards. At the end of the appointment I asked again and he said he’d send the payment info with the report. I emailed a few days ago to ask about the status of the report and remind him to send payment info (in case he forgot what he told me and was waiting for me to pay first or something). So it seems the long wait time for the report or even ghosting of patients may be a pattern, but the fact that he hasn’t pushed me for payment at all makes it seem like it isn’t a money-driven endeavor. I don’t know. All very odd. Will update if (hopefully when) I get my report.
We’ve had other members mention a similar difficulty in follow through w/ post visit reports from Dr. Heim. I’d keep after him until you get the report.
Another update - a couple weeks after sending him a reminder via email, I just received a written report from Dr. Heim. He included a brief summary of my symptoms, a brief analysis of my CT scans and what he observes there, some theorizing as to what the underlying issue is, and recommendations for moving forward. Interestingly, one thing he recommended that he didn’t mention during the consultation is to test for lyme disease, as apparently that can cause some of the same symptoms I have. I’ll have to read up on that some more, but I’ll probably go ahead and see if I can get tested, as I obviously want to rule out all other causes before deciding on surgery.
Also, unfortunately, Dr. Heim said there’s still no news on if or when he might be operating again.
@Eyjajulie - Good news that you finally got your report from Dr. Heim. Bad news that he still doesn’t know when he’ll start doing surgery again. It’s good he’s investigated another possible contributor to your symptoms, but I hope you don’t have Lyme Disease. I hope you’re able to get accurate & thorough testing for it. Please let us know what you find out.
Dr. Heim now offers 2-opinion based on a CT scan. You can send him your data and you can book a zoom call session online. This costs 350 Euro and you get his consultancy. He is doing surgery again but in a new, very small clinic in Düsseldorf Germany.
For clarification: Dr. Heim is an oral surgeon, not a neurosurgeon, he is very much experienced on styloidectomy (styloids and ligaments) but he doesn’t take care of C1 resections.
Interesting that Dr. Heim is an oral surgeon. I don’t think anyone ever mentioned his medical specialty before so we likely assumed he was an ENT. Thx for the information, @TinaSwitzerland!
