Has anyone recently had Dr. Cognetti and Dr. Heller for Eagles or Jugular veinous Compression surgery?
I can’t find many discussions from members who’ve seen Dr Cognetti and Dr Heller for IJV decompression, but we certainly have had members who have had surgery with them, including several from Canada , so hopefully someone will let you know, or @Isaiah_40_31 might be able to remember their names, her memory is better than mine! Here’s links to a couple of discussions about Dr Cognetti, I don’t know if they’re helpful:

I had surgery with Cognetti! - General - Living with Eagle
I looked at some posts yesterday but most are older 2014, 2016 or 2022. ? I read them. I’m waiting to hear back from them about a September date. Hopefully I’ll be in good shape by then for the surgery. Thanks
I just had my leftside done in April. But we only did styloid removal on that side since we don’t think there was c1 involvement on that side (there is on the right side) so I only have experience with Cognetti and not Dr Heller yet
Thanks, how was your in and out procedure. Did you recover well so far?
He does same day and I don’t normally do real well with pain and would be more comfortable with an overnight stay. I will also have Dr. Heller for the C1 shave.
For just the styloid removal the surgery was super easy. Ride home wasn’t fun though. The superficial healing was quick and easy and the first week or so was generally easy. I felt happy and could almost think clearer but the pressure issues have been a bit roller coastery. I assume you’re vascular type since you asked about c1 also. Ive had some “shifts” where my head pain is less most days but a few days have still been 10 out of 10 pain, but sort of took a turn with being in a steady feeling of pre- fainting which I didn’t have before. The best improvement for me was gagging/dry heaving or vomitting everyday to only a handful of times since. So things have shifted but I think I am considering evaluating the right side come July. They make you wait 3 months to see if your pressure recalibrates. Vision has seen improvement but still blurry often and tinnitus is less severe. Still having pretty bad cognitive issues also. Happy to answer anything else.
Thanks so much for your help!!
for a successful recovery.
@bs9652 - @Sammi is another member who had surgery w/ Dr. Cognetti. I can’t remember if she had IJV decompression, but I think she didn’t. Here are links to some of her discussions:
If you need an overnight stay in the hospital, even just for peace of mind, after your surgery w/ Dr. Cognetti, let him know that. I expect he will be able to arrange for you to be admitted to stay overnight after surgery.
Not so! We complement each other with what we each remember!! ![]()
Thank you for helping me navigate this site. I’m still working on how to find info and even posting questions. I appreciate your help.
