Anyone use him? Im trying to get into see him.
I have not used him, however, I do know one member who used him and very successfully. he is amazing. He has been used by at least two members. I am not sure of the first one. His name was one of the first ones mentioned in the posts several years ago having done a successful surgery. If you have read any of Earmom’s posts, you know that her son had bilateral eagles at a very young age. Dr, Newman removed his and he was well for about a year and a half. He did them externally and removed them to the skull base. However, the styloids grew back. Dr. Newman was surprised, but did not cower and send her packing like some doctors would. He redid the surgeries and as far as I know now her son is doing well. She has even written a book about her struggles. I will find out the information and where it can be purchased. Dr Newman does external and intraoral surgeries. As I said, he did external on this members son, twice on both sides. From this experience, I would say that he must be a really wonderful surgeon and person. I do not know if Earmom is still on the site. I know she is working Eagles and rare disease awareness. I would say definitely contact him. I don’t think you will be disappointed, but if you are, Dr. Cognetti is in Philadelphia. Dr. Forrest is/was at Cleveland Clinic in OH, both have been helpful as have a few others in the doctor’s list.
Ear_Mom’s book is a real page turner. I’ve read it. It’s available from Amazon.
It’s called Connecting the Dots.
My son had 4 styloidectomies with Dr. Newman at Penn. He is a gifted surgeon. Here is a link to my son’s story (available in e-book or pdf formats only at this time through Amazon, Barnes & Noble online, and many others:https://www.amazon.com/Connecting-Dots-Myoclonus-Glossopharyngeal-Neuralgia-ebook/dp/B073XSZ2G2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506282628&sr=8-1&keywords=connecting+the+dots+sherri+jonas

Thank you i will check it out! I meet with jim next week. I cant wait.
Hope it goes well; let us know how you get on!
I will. Does anyone know thw average waif time for surgery once you meet with doc?
It depends on the doctor & how busy (s)he is. In the US it’s usally shorter than in countries w/ socialized medicine. I think it’s usually a couple of weeks at the earliest here.
