I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a place in Europe that does PRP injections to the alar ligaments and generally C0-C1?
I know about Centeno’s that does the PICL procedure and I’m looking for something similar here in EU.
I recall seeing team in London who were related to US team & who did stem cell injections in cervical spine. But they did not offer the full range of treatments available in US at that time. I am away at present but can find London clinic details for you after I return home later this week if helpful? D
Thanks Jules.
At the moment I’m trying out less invasive methods for my CCI. Fortunately I’m not yet a candidate for a surgery.
When it comes to chiropractic methods they are not lasting. Any sort of “atlas correction” chiropractic adjustments are kinda scams in my opinion.
Hey, I think I know to whom you’re referring to. Most likely the Regenexx team in UK. Unfortunately they’re skipping C0-C1 part and not injecting into alar ligaments
It doesn’t seem to last long, I agree, but members have spoken well of the clinic I mentioned, they seem to be helpful. I hope that you can find something to work for you
I just saw your question and remembered a german fellow who told me of stem cell injections he had done in Belgium at Dr. Janusas with some temporary success for about half a year.
The doctor is in Switzerland now though:
He is an aspiring doctor who has also ES and Jugular involvement in my opinion. Unfortunately he isn’t member of this forum. I was contacted by him over another fellow with whatsapp.
If you like to make contact to him the only appropriate way would be that you PM me a message for him with some contact information to you. I’d forward your message over whatsapp to him then.
If you are most interested in the pricing: he told me it was 10 grand when he went to the former Belgium location.
Dr. Kastriotis in Zweibrücken, Germany, apparently performs PRP for CCI, with some people reporting success. Additionally, Dr. Bärlehner near Lübeck offers Prolotherapy, but not PRP at the craniocervical junction. Both are only able to inject the posterior ligaments and capsule joints, not, for example, the alar ligament as Dr. Centeno and Dr. Janusas can. I can’t comment on the skill of these doctors in performing this procedure, but personally, I would never go to Dr. Janusas due to his rather unprofessional social media presence, especially in some Facebook groups where he frequently clashes with members. In my opinion, he does not have as scientific an approach as Dr. Centeno.
Depending on the type of CCI, it is possible that posterior injections, like those performed by Dr. Kastriotis and Dr. Bärlehner, could help. However, if the problem lies with the alar ligament, Dr. Centeno (and other doctors at his facility like Dr. Schultz) is, in my opinion, the only valid option.
