Clicking in ears

Hi, does anyone get clicking in the ears after surgery?

@Anita - I have clicking in my left ear. What you’re experiencing is likely Middle Ear Myoclonus. It’s caused by one of two small inner ear muscles twitching - the tensor tympanii or the stapedius.

I developed MEM after my styloidectomies, but I already had hearing loss & chronic tinnitus in the ear that developed it. For me it started up & was annoyingly present for much of each day but after the first few weeks passed, it started to be more intermittent. Now it rarely occurs & is only momentary.

Here is a link to more information about it, however, the article suggests medication or botox injections to “cure” it. I suggest that you wait it out & see if it doesn’t disappear on it’s own as time passes & your body continues to heal from your surgery.

It worsened for me post op. I had it before, but it never showed itself often. It eased off though.
