Hi friends, has anyone had a positive outcome surgery with Dr Joshua Shindler in Oregon? Any info would be greatly appreciated
Weāve had a few members whoāve had him do their ES surgeries. Hereās a discussion by one member @Kiriez.
You can look for other discussions about Dr. Schindler by clicking on the magnifying glass search tool & typing his name in the search bar that comes up.
Thanks for your response Isaiah, Its releiving to know that he had sdone successful surgeries. I have a surgery with Dr Hepworth on August 18th, my insurance is saying the will not cover Denver, i have spoken with them and let them know there are no qualified surgeonās in Utah and have gotten 3 letters from doctors explaining they are not qualified and i need a qualified surgeon. My insurance says they will cover Idaho, Utah, Washington and Oregon. Not sure what route I will go but I would like to have Hepworth do my surgery but if there is a good surgeon in one of those states im willing to look into them.
With your vascular symptoms, you really should stick w/ a doctor like doctor Hepworth who āknows the ropesā for that type of surgery. Dr. Schindler only does intraoral surgery which is not great for dealing w/ vascular ES.
I am so sorry your insurance isnāt advocating for your benefit & is being inflexible. Weāve had other members whoāve had similar situations. You can contact your ins. company to see if they have a patient advocate as some of our members have had success working w/ a patient advocate when coverage was declined. If they donāt you may be able to find a patient advocate online. There is a process & it might put your surgery off a bit. Iāll try to find the post @lilwider wrote about her experience w/ this & you can look for them, too.
Hereās a couple of discussions about appealing insurance decisions, the first one has info about the procedure which was useful for an insurance appeal:

I do agree with @Isaiah_40_31 that for VES, you do need a doctor with that experience if you can see one, & intra-oral surgery isnāt the best method for vascular issues⦠Good luck!
Right, Iām not ok just having anyone cut near my jugular. I am getting alot of documentation from doctors that arenāt qualified hoping that will help my case. I will also use youāre email to help my case. I will ask about the patient advocacy. I will link into lilwilders post. Thank you so much for taking time to help people. You are an amazing person.
