Hi all. I’m going through the process of trying to secure a pre-auth for surgery with Blue Shield of CA. I had a lovely chat today with @Chrickychricky, who got the California Dept of Managed Health Care to help, and successfully got her surgeries paid for by insurance. As a (recovered) lawyer, I know that precedents matter. I’d like to help create a file for folks to use when they face this problem. For now, I’m looking for anyone else who successfully got Blue Shield of CA to cover surgery (I’m going to Costantino, but anyone who does jugular decompression – not a styloidectomy).
