It's a battle

@Lynny43 Yes, it was definitely a long road to get help. My symptoms actually started around 2016 with clenching and right-sided facial swelling, but by 2019 I couldn’t brush it aside anymore.

I had bilateral styloidectomies with Dr. Osborne in early December. The consult was $250 and honestly well worth it. He was the only surgeon I saw who didn’t dismiss my symptoms or suggest more testing to confirm what was already clearly visible on recent 10/3/25 imaging and matched my symptoms.

It was out of pocket, which wasn’t easy, but after years of progressively worsening symptoms and being stonewalled for years, I couldn’t let the offer of help from a skilled surgeon pass by.

I am now three months post-op. I still have the ups and downs people describe with IJV decompression, but it’s improving a little more each day. The nerve pain is still lingering, but I know nerves can take longer to settle.

I also know Dr. Osborne isn’t known for doing IJV decompression specifically, but in my case removing the styloid above the compression which was at the skull base, similar to yours has relieved the pressure.

I had lost the light at the end of the tunnel before I found Dr. Osborne.

I hope Dr. Robert Cognetti or Dr. Constantine Constantino will be able to help you. But if they can’t, they just weren’t the right surgeons for your case and you will find the right one. :heart_exclamation:
