Hi, I would like to know from those who have been through the process, in case of bilateral styloidectomy do surgeons prefer to do one side first or both? As I am considering self pay in the UK purely due to the waiting lists and the effect this is having on me I wanted to know if the option of having both sides done is available.thanks.

As far as I know, UK surgeons aren’t doing both sides at once…I had my surgeries separately with Mr Axon, he said to have both sides operated on would be ‘too much’ in his words. Not many doctors worldwide do either, as there can be alot of swelling.

does do bilateral surgery, hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong, several members have had surgery with him recently as even with the travelling it works out cheaper than in the US… @Warrick was looking into this from the UK in case Mr Axon wouldn’t do a C1 shave as well.
