Symptoms that increase when you are sick?

Hi,

I’d like to know and understand why when I get sick ( flu, etc.), certain symptoms like tension and pain in my soft palate (burning sensation in my soft palate and throat) worsen? What causes this? Do you experience this too?

I think when we’re sick, there is more inflammation overall in our bodies, & that especially affects the things that are already “on high alert” like our nerves & vascular tissues that are being irritated or squashed due to ES. This is a very common observation that has been made my our members over many years. Hormonal fluctuations have also been noted to increase symptoms. A lot of our female members also notice their symptoms get worse during their premenstrual & menstrual times of the month. Weather changes i.e. changes in barometric pressure are another thing that our members w/ IJV compression have commented on as causing their headaches & other symptoms to get worse

We’ve had other discussions about this, as other members have noticed the same…I think when we have a virus etc, our body’s ‘weak’ areas seem to suffer more, & like @Isaiah_40_31 says if there’s areas which are already a bit inflamed it’s not surprising that you notice these even more when you’re ill… It’s like someone who’s perhaps prone to tonsillitis or sinusitis , even a virus like a cold can sometimes flare up these things, I’ve noticed that with family members. Hope you feel better soon, if you’re under the weather! :hugs:
