@Hamela - Anxiety is often enhanced due to IJV compression because the vagus nerve also gets squashed along w/ the IJV. The vagus nerve is a major player in our anxiety & depression levels. When it isn’t happy, we tend to get anxious/depressed more easily. I suspect your anxiety level will drop to more normal once you’ve had your surgery(ies) & your IJV(s) & vagus nerve are all working better.
Try not to look ahead & second guess what will happen w/ your angiogram. Your symptoms are plenty telling that you need the surgery you have scheduled. The angiogram will just further confirm it.
It’s a big decision about surgery so I think most of us get pretty anxious, please don’t worry about asking for help here!
Before my surgery I had kept a diary of my symptoms, so I would read through that if I was having a better day symptoms-wise, to remind myself that I definitely needed surgery. You have that really detailed report from Dr Middleton, so you probably have more info about what’s happening in your neck than most of us do/ did, so remember that and what those pesky styloids are doing to your vascular system…it would be very unlikely that the angiogram would show anything now which would make your surgery be cancelled, as you have already had lots of testing so anything untoward would likely have been seen already…it’s probably just a hoop to go through to make your surgeon confident before he operates. Hugs & prayers for peace
