Cervical collar recommendations

Good Morning (I’m EST) Eaglers,

I met and had help from a gracious Eagler. I am seeking additionally to research for my PT which if any collars Eaglers have found to help reduce symptoms of Eagle? I’ve been using a light green, gray and white collar from Aspen Vista.

All Best,
Courtney

It’s not something which is known to help ES symptoms generally, but there have been a few discussions which you could have a read of:

@Itsanewdawn - Most of our members who’ve tried collars have used soft collars more to help them keep their heads in a neutral position or to remind them not to turn or move their heads into positions that make symptoms worse. I’m not sure the collars themselves actually help alleviate symptoms. One of our members recently mentioned that a PT had said becoming reliant on a collar can allow the neck muscles to become weak because they’re constantly being supported by the collar & neck muscle weakness can cause additional problems over time.

Have you talked to a doctor yet about surgery as surgery will be the best way for your to recover from your ES symptoms?

@Jules - thank you for posting those collar links. They’re good resources!
