Looking for Eagle's surgeon in Atlanta area

Hello all, I was diagnosed with L sided Eagle’s in 2017 with CT scan and have been living with it without too much discomfort. Yesterday, I suddenly noticed that I have mild facial paralysis (smile turns up only on R side, full L ear symptoms, scratchy feeling in L eye.) Can anyone recommend a doctor/surgeon in the Atlanta GA area with experience treating this condition?
Thank you!

Here’s a link to the Doctors List in case you haven’t seen it:
Doctor Lists – no discussion - Symptoms and Treatments / Doctor Information - Living with Eagle
There’s 2 doctors on the list in GA; I don’t know much about them but you can use the search function to see if there have been any mentions in the discussions.
I’m sorry your symptoms have worsened, the facial nerve does get affected by ES so it sounds like that’s causing an issue for you. If you have a scratchy feeling in your eye, it might be worth getting that checked out & tested for dryness- my eyes are very dry & that started around the same time as my ES symptoms worsened too.
Hope you can find a doctor!

Jules,
thank you so much for sharing this link and your experience. Have you had a styloidectomy or are you thinking of having it?
Take care,
Luisa

@lsiepi - I don’t want to be discouraging, but the two doctors on the list for your state have only helped a couple of our members & have turned away others whom they could have helped. Several of our members from your state have had to travel out of state to get the help they need with ES.

I’ve had surgery, and it was very successful, I’m UK though, so not very helpful for you!
If you don’t feel confident with those doctors ( @Isaiah_40_31 has a better memory than me with which doctors have done which surgeries!) then we can suggest the most experienced ones, and which doctors do teleheath appointments…

Hi Isaiah, you’re not being discouraging – your note was very helpful and probably saved me some time. I’ll share any experiences I have with providers, good or bad.
Thanks again

@lsiepi - I wanted to check in to see if you’ve met w/ a doctor who is will do ES surgery for you & if so, who did you see or are you seeing? Have you had surgery?

Hi Isaiah,
thank you for your interest. I met with an otolaryngologist at Emory (Dr. Solares) – The department is very familiar with styloidectomies but my doc is not recommending that for me – at least not at the moment.
My facial paralysis is improving and is likely due to a completely different thing. We’re just waiting a few more months to see if it resolves itself completely.
Take care,
Luisa

Thank you for your update, Luisa. I’m glad your symptoms have resolved to some extent & I hope that continues so you don’t need surgery at all. Thx for Dr. Solares’ name. I will add him to our Doctors List as a resource.
