Post Second Surgery Update

Hi All,

It’s been about 2 weeks since my second surgery with Dr. Nakaji (left side surgery). I feel like this recovery has been a bit easier than the right side, but still patiently waiting for my remaining symptoms to disappear. It’s only been two weeks and I still have facial/jaw pain/soreness and that light-headedness, unfortunately, but I am hoping that once I get to the 6 and 12 week mark, they’ll be gone.

Has anyone else had experience with these symptoms?

I did feel quite good when I woke up from surgery and a day or so after, before the post-surgery swelling/inflammation started, so I’m hopeful to feel much better like that again once it all heals.

Hoping to heal and lose these symptoms once and for all

Paul

@pauld1635 I think the fact that you felt good before the swelling took over is a good sign. For me, all the symptoms that eventually got better initially got worse from the compressive force of the swelling. You are still very early in your recovery. I used a lot of ice in those early days.

It is still very early days, you probably remember that from your first surgery, so I’m sure things will improve with time…Certainly after vascular compression it can take the brain a little while to adjust, & the nerve pain you presumably have in your face can take months to resolve fully- we’ve had some members pop back on here over a year after their surgery to say that nerve pain has finally improved, so don’t worry too much if you can help it… Like you say, hopefully by 6 weeks you’ll see them easing! :folded_hands:
