Hello, i am really struggling with my symptoms. I have now been diagnosed with eagles with ijv compression. I do however have some odd symptoms that do not appear so common. This includes torso/trunk numbness, itchiness in armpit area, underneath my pec area is itchy,
i have a fluttery type feeling underneath my last rib on the left side of my body and also a tightness around my abdomen as if someone has tightened a belt around me. I get extreme arm fatigue if i raise my arms to around shoulder height for even a couple of minutes. This is not TOS as i was told TOS would not affect abdominal muscles…more like how i read up slipping rib. Can anyone relate?
Slipped rib syndrome has been mentioned before, here’s a link to a discussion you might find interesting:

Unfortunately quite a few members who have venous compression seem to be prone to other venous compressions, like Nutcracker and May Thurner, … ES can cause arm/ shoulder weakness and/ or pain, so that could be causing your arm weakness, but otherwise you could have TOS causing the arm symptoms & something else causing the abdo symptoms?
@Benjie87 - I agree w/ @Jules that you could have multiple causes for your symptoms. Getting everything diagnosed can be a challenge but beginning by taking care of the things you know you have will start to reduce symptoms & possibly make it easier to diagnose what’s left.
Hi @Benjie87, I have/had some of the symptoms you’ve described. I had surgery just 2 months ago so symptoms are still coming and going but the tightness feeling I had in my left lower ribs hasn’t been there for a while now. It was like a crushing feeling when it would come. I think it could have something to do with the weakness in the arm/shoulder on that side due to eagles, and a weak opposite hip I have from a previous sports injury. The weakness across my body on the diagonal means that I have instability along that diagonal line and so notice that my torso has a slight twist forwards from the left shoulder (my affected side) from 10 years of undiagnosed eagles. I’ve also wondered in the last week if the nerves could also be causing the twisting. Post surgery I have been working a lot on the serratus posterior superior muscle and found some good stretches via rehabhero.ca for it to help release the left torso backward which is working. I’m not sure if it would have worked prior to surgery though. I also have what feels like a slipping rib on the opposite side.
Arm/shoulder weakness is only slightly better but imagine once the nerve heals/muscles untense and gently strengthening them this will improve more. In the meantime very gentle massage along the rotator cuff front and back helps for me as well as along the line of the shoulder blade. Working the trapezius and SCM just aggravates things I’ve found.
Thank you so much for your help
I’d try to get checked for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome…pretty easy if you know the signs. If you meet criteria, I would definitely see about seeing a neurologist for some imaging of your lower spine and more maybe. The comorbidities of EDS should all be looked at if its present and your are experiencing symptom.

He talks specifically about rib subluxation at some point in the video.
@BirdsOfSore - Thank you for the video links. We have a number of members who have hEDS & others who are questioning whether they do or not. These provide very helpful information!
