I just had a panoramic dental scan done. The dentist showed me the styloids. I’m going to try to upload it. I’m just wondering about what you see. Thanks

I can’t label the styloids for you but they’re definitely visible! The right styloid (left on the image) is quite a chunky one, and the left styloid looks quite nobbly, so not surprising that they’re causing you symptoms!
Have you decided to have surgery with Dr Cognetti, or are you still recovering from other surgeries?

I’m recovering but I’m waiting for them to call with another appointment with Dr. Cognetti and a surgery date. The 2 doctors only work together on Fridays. Sometime in September

This was the first clear picture of the styloids I have seen. I will be passing them on to Dr. Cognetti.

@bs9652 - I’ve annotated your image so you can better see where the styloids are. Styloids are longer than normal anytime they are visible in a panoramic x-ray. I agree w/ @Jules assessment that the right one is chunky, & I’ll add curvy, while the left one does have quite a knob on it. They aren’t excessively long, but their other physical features are plenty adequate to cause them to be symptomatic.
I hope you’re able to have your surgery in Sept. As always, ask for a spot on Dr. C’s cancellation list when you get the call back about scheduling surgery.
