Thank you for the update! You don’t look bad at all considering it’s so soon after surgery. I’m really glad to know you’re feeling better already. Just be aware that the surgery medications provide what I refer to as a post op “honeymoon period” which can last a day or two, but the post op swelling peaks during days 3-5 so pain & symptoms can ramp up more during that period. I think for me, it was days 3-6. At any rate, the key to keeping pain at a minimum is to ice your neck every couple of hours, sleep w/ head elevation (30º if possible) & follow the pain meds directions precisely even during the night. If you’ve been given an opioid pain medication, you’ll need to add a stool softener & laxative to your daily regimen until you’re off that pain med.
I look forward to hearing about your recovery as it progresses, Audrey. ![]()
Hi,
All my symptoms are gone but pulsating tinnitus yet.
I was told my emissary veins will deflate with time, they are still big.
Thanks ![]()

@Hamela Well done you! Take good care of yourself and remember that it’s a process.
Good to hear, swelling will likely affect some of the symptoms so you might find that they come & go, & try not to worry if that happens. Hugs & prayers for you

Did they give you a time frame for how long you would be in the hospital?
@B4tax - It’s usually just overnight unless you have a post op complication.
