Update: Had my surgery on friday

I just wanted to let you know about my surgery. I was asking in a previous thread about having both sides done in one procedure, well the doctors decided to do just one side, but remove my tonsils as well. It's been 5 days since surgery and I'm still in a lot of pain, but what worries me the most, is that the symptoms, which made me go through all this, are starting to come back..

It feels like getting the flu every 7-10 days..

Please tell me I just have to wait for everything to heal properly, I already got my upper wisdom teeth removed for fun earlier this summer.

About the surgery: I think I was in good hands, the doctors were well informed about the syndrome and did a good job removing it intraorally. Combined with the tonsillectomy it's pretty painful, I can't tell exactly what's where, but I think initially the cut for the styliod process hurt a little more (first day) but after that, the area where the tonsils used to be feels much worse.

I think I can recommend the "Uniklinik Düsseldorf" if anybody is looking for a doctor in Germany.

Hi! If you read my previous posts I have been operated recently intraoral also. I have felt that all my eagle's symptoms have come back after surgery. But not only my doctor but other people from this forum think that you have to give it at least 3 months or even more to heal properly. How do you feel right now? Any improvement?

Cheers

V

Hi, thanks for the reply and the reassurement. I still feel very tired and I'm still in a lot of pain because of the tonsillectomy. The wound from the process only hurts if I have to open my mouth too wide. My mouth looks and feels like as if I tried to swallow a firecracker :)

All the best

Jens

Hi Jens

How much styloid did they took out? In my case they took 1.5 cm on the left and 2 cm on the right.

Problems with my troath are much better but still have ear and neck pain only in one side. Also some eye pain. Hope it will disappear.

When you finish your analgesic s, your doctor should prescribe some muscle relaxants because everything have to go back were it belongs.

Good luck

Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,

I don't know how much they removed, the surgeon made a gesture with his fingers which was about 3-4 cm, but I really don't know.

I guess we'll have to be patient now.

All the best

Jens
