As Jules noted, in the US many surgeons do external “outpatient” external surgery which means the patient leaves the same day as the surgery. I think I went at 6 am & left by 2 pm so was there for about 6 hours. Also in the US many doctors only do one side at a time. Those who do both at once require an overnight stay in the hospital but no more than that unless there is a complication.

Yes! It’s called Earnest syndrome! The ligament gets “tought” almost like jerkey (lol) and is the cause of pain. Usually palpating the ligament (and subsequent shooting pain that follows) is how earnest syndrome is diagnosed!
